Ho Ho Hail to the Redskins!

Thanks to Mr. Devine, we were able to watch the Skins last win of the season against the Eagles in style.  After parking pretty much on the field, we watched the teams warmup from the sidelines.  I think it was when Mrs. Portis passed baby pictures of Clinton over my shoulder to Lindsay Czarniak that I shed a single tear of happiness.  We then enjoyed the game from the heated owners box with unlimited trips to the buffet and bar.  What an amazing experience - and the skins even won!

So, I might be addicted to this thing already.  I can't wait until the rest of you donkeys get out of the stone age and start posting some garb.   

This video is from my wetting down (a party funded with my increase in pay after getting promoted to LTJG).  I am doing the traditional "Carrier Landing" on a shaving cream covered table dressed as Tom Cruise from Risky Business (it was an 80's theme party).  The object is to catch your legs on the pole like the tail hook on an aircraft carrier.  If you catch it you won't fly off the end of the table - This was my third attempt...

I spent Thanksgiving in San Francisco with a roommate from college who is going to grad school at Stanford.  We had dinner at his ex-girlfriend's - friend's - family friend's house which was a lot less awkward than I thought it would be.  It was a beautiful house and an awesome dinner (of course, not as good as G-ma Kate's spreads...).  Anyway here are some of my favorite pictures from the weekend.

I went for a drive last Sunday (not to be cliche or anything) and explored Humboldt's more rural areas - that being said, I didn't have to travel far.  Here are some pictures of some local covered bridges built in the 1930's designed after East Coast bridges in the 1800's.

i dont know if this is going to work...but i thought maybe id try to start a family blog for us to post stuff onto. its either going to be really really cool!!!!!...or really lame. and im new at it, but i think we can post pics and comments and stuff like that. you know...instead of going back and forth with emails... let me know what you think!! im going to try and make everyone a main user thing so anyone can post... you have the potential of being super modern and hip!! hahaha just kidding.
